Hi everyone. I have just verified that there is a Chromium bug affecting the HQ Audio selection when using Sessionwire in the browser. It looks like this bug emerged in Chromium version 128.0.6613.138 and is still present in the current version 129.0.6668.59, which is the latest version.

Our Windows and macOS native Sessionwire apps are unaffected by this issue. Please advise clients and collaborators that they should download the free app if they wish to send HQ Audio from the Sessionwire Send plugin.

A word of warning: using Chrome > About Google Chrome will begin an auto update to the latest version. To check your version without an autoupdate enter chrome://version in the address bar of your browser.

This bug affects all Chromium based browsers including: Chrome, Brave Browser, Edge, Arc and a few others.

We will be posting updates as new information becomes available from the Chromium dev team.

    Update:

So far in our testing this issue has only been reproducible using Chrome.

Edge, Brave and Arc seem unaffected.

A complete uninstall and reinstall of Chrome seems to have rectified the issue. This is the procedure I used for the uninstall and reinstall on macOS:

    • Download a fresh version of Chrome to install after deletion
    • Export bookmarks etc. if you don't sync your browser to your Google account
    • Quit all instances of Chrome
    • Move Chrome to trash
    • In Finder, select the Go menu and hold the 'option' key to reveal the Library menu item
    • Navigate to Library -> Application Support -> Google and move the Chrome folder to the trash
    • Reinstall Chrome from the downloaded .dmg file

In my testing this rectified the issue which makes me wonder if an issue occurred during the last update on this machine.

If you are encountering this issue please let me know if this recitified it for you.

We will continue to monitor the situation.
